5-day TOUR FES TO CHEFCHAOUEN AND MEKNES

Day 1 Fez

Overnight in: Fes.
Meals: Breakfast

Your MOROCCO TRAVELS AND TRIPS driver will meet you at FEZ Saiss airport, You will then be escorted to your hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Fes.

Day 2 Fez city Tour

Begin your full-day discovery of Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco, with an expert local guide who will lead you through the city’s most iconic landmarks, historic quarters, and vibrant neighborhoods. Known for having the oldest and most beautifully preserved Medina in the Arab world, Fes offers an unforgettable journey through centuries of tradition.

Start your tour at the Royal Palace gates, admired for their stunning golden doors, before exploring the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) and its rich heritage. Continue to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the entire ancient Medina, offering a magnificent photo opportunity.

Then, step into the maze-like streets of Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit key monuments such as:

  • Al-Qarawiyyin University, considered the oldest existing university in the world

  • Bou Inania or Attarine Medersa, masterpieces of Marinid architecture

  • The Nejjarine Fountain, a beautifully restored mosaic landmark

  • The Souks, where artisans craft traditional products such as brassware, leather goods, textiles, and woodwork

Along the way, witness the famous Chouara Tannery, where leather is dyed using centuries-old techniques.

Day 3 FEZ – CHEFCHAOUEN

After Breakfast, prepare for a drive to Chefchaouen via Ouazzane and through the Rif Mountains which are located in the northern region of the country. When you arrive to Chefchouan the first
captivating feature will be the blue color all around. Chefchaouen is Morocco’s “Blue Pearl”. It has come to be known as such due to a distinctive blue color all the inhabitants use to paint their houses.
This tradition trace back to the Jewish traditions and beliefs that the color blue represents the sky which in turn reminds people of heaven and God. This color covering the city gives it and amazing
charm as well as a sense and an atmosphere of relaxation, comfort and peace. Have you heard of healing pearls and gems? Well this one really works.

Begin your guided walking tour of the charming Medina, exploring its maze of blue-washed alleys, whitewashed walls, and colorful doors. Visit the Kasbah Museum in the main square, Plaza Uta el-Hammam, and admire its Andalusian gardens and historic artifacts. Continue past the Grand Mosque (exterior visit) and browse through the local souks, where artisans sell traditional crafts, woven textiles, and handmade pottery.

After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel for a smooth and relaxing check-in, with the rest of the evening free at your leisure.

Day 4 Chefchaouen– Volubilis- Meknes- Fez

After breakfast, depart from Chefchaouen and journey south through the beautiful Rif Mountains toward the imperial heart of Morocco. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of lush valleys, olive groves, and traditional Berber villages.

Your first stop will be the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most well-preserved archaeological sites in North Africa. With your local expert guide, explore the fascinating remains of this Roman city — its grand arches, intricate mosaics, temples, and the Capitol — and learn about Morocco’s rich and layered history that dates back over 2,000 years.

Continue your journey to the imperial city of Meknes, another UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Morocco’s most historic cities. Upon arrival, enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch at a local restaurant, featuring regional specialties and fresh local ingredients.

After lunch, meet your local guide for a city tour of Meknes, once the glorious capital of Sultan Moulay Ismail in the 17th century. Visit the magnificent Bab Mansour Gate, one of Morocco’s most impressive city gates, and explore El Hedim Square, the Royal Stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, known for its beautiful architecture and spiritual significance.

In the late afternoon, depart Meknes and continue your journey to Fes, where you will arrive in the evening and check in at your hotel.

Day 5 Fez Departure
